a wedding through the looking glass...

So todays post will definitely make most of you groan if I mention the words ´themed wedding´...I know I know, disastrous if not done right, I don´t know about you but I´ve watched enough episodes of ´Don´t Tell The Bride´to know a theme is rarely a winner. But, I´m sorry, I couldn´t resist doing a page on an Alice in Wonderland themed wedding, it´s just so magical I had to have a go, but I draw the line at the bride wearing an Alice dress!

Firstly I found these gorgeous centrepieces for your Mad Hatters tea party...

If you want to have a go at making your own just get down to your nearest charity shop, I´m sure you´ll find a selection of crockery there - then pile it up with a selection of faux flowers just make sure the tower is very secure you don´t want any injuries on your big day.

I also found these cute teacup candles for your tables...

Very whimsical aren´t they, and for your seating tags have a look at these...

Now to add to the ambience I found this Alice Silhouette that´d look great at the entrance to your reception...

If I was going to go with this theme I´d definitely size it up and make a lifesize silhouette I think that would really be a talking point, this huge key has the right idea...

With this theme I think you really have to go to town with the props, Alice in Wonderland doesn´t go hand in hand with a minimal look, you need to have the fun factor so get doing your research.

Another great addition I found for your mad hatter tea party is the clock below...

Pretty special isn´t it, the first hat clock I´ve ever seen!
Now when it comes to sweet treats there´s plenty of choice, I love these cookies...

If your budget doesn´t stretch to those then have a look at these edible cupcake toppers they´re beautiful AND they´re great value...

Of course you can´t have a themed reception without the tags I found below...

I also found some vintage look signs that look great...

...and if that isn´t enough for you I´ve even found a glittery croquet set...

Won you over yet? Hmmm probably not! Of course a theme isn´t for everyone but I do think looking at these will really encourage you to have fun at your wedding, why have a serious and formal event when it´s the happiest day of your life, relax and enjoy...

Happy planning, paz e amor, the bride to be x
