the boho wedding dress of my dreams

Well it´s been quite some time since I last wrote! I´ve been busy busy busy on the hunt for more beautiful items for our outdoor wedding and also I purchased the dress. Yes, not just any dress but THE dress. The beautiful boho gown I´ve been lusting after and I will hopefully still fit into in ten months time. It wasn´t easy either, I came across it on the internet and was kind of crushed when I discovered it was by Spanish designer Raimon Bundo and the average cost of his gowns is waaay out of my price range.

However there was light at the end of the tunnel, it was from an old collection called Ir De Bundo - seriously if you want floaty and romantic you must look at the gown here they´re so so beautiful, they have a feel of Claire Pettibone and Jenny Packham but a little more whimsical.

Now a problem with many designers is they don´t sell online so it wasn´t just a price problem, we also had the problem we would have to travel to one of the stockists too. Luckily for me I have a wonderful wonderful fiancee (of course or I wouldn´t be marrying him right?!), I can pass on bags of riches give me a caring man with a sense of humour every time! I am also very lucky that my man´s Portuguese and can speak Spanish as the lady from the store spoke no English at all, not only did he work his charm persuading the lady to sell us the sample but he knocked down her original price of €1800 to €800 - all that stood in our way was a thirteen hour road trip from our home in the Algarve to Barcelona!

We got through it without murdering each other on the way and thank my lucky stars the dress fit me like a (slightly tight) glove. I couldn´t communicate much with the sales lady much but my man shouted words of encouragement through the curtain and I gathered she was telling me I looked beautiful in Spanish, I know that´s token for every shopping bride-to-be but it did the job and I now have one more thing to cross of the tick list.

Here´s a picture of the dress we travelled across two countries for, hope it makes you smile as much as it does me...

...and the side view...

Beautiful right? Not your average dress that´s why I love it. So take something from my experience, rather than risking having a copy made (though it works for some it´s disastrous for others) try and buy the sample. It means you get the designer quality and you can get a huge discount if you play your cards right, mine is in perfect condition and I can´t wait to wear it. Roll on September...

Paz e amor, the bride to be x
